Will different coloured (green, orange, black) tooling gelcoats give a different surface finish for epoxy resin infusion with vacuum bagging?
What is the reasoning behind the different colours?
Cheers,

Hello GTR-J
Your gel coat surface of the mould will be the same as the plug/pattern it is moulded from unless you rework it ie.. dull from plug and polishing to a high gloss finish. Different colour gels are normally used on moulds because of the gels being applied to them of similar or same colour and being able to see any missed spots! You would not have a good result applying black gel to a black mould!!
Kind Regards

Thank you for the reply it was very helpful
