I feel you...
Strange no one has come up with some tricks to find those leaks. How about filling it with air instead of vacuum and put it under water? like you do with bicycle tyres. You see where the bubles come and there you have the leak. Or maybe the other way around with some colored liquid, put the piece under that liquid and see where the liquid is pulled.
Or maybe EC could provide a professional home service where they respond to your breakdown call, come to your house and helps you find the leak
