Hello to all!

I am a relative newbie to composites with the sum total of my experiece being a few hand lay-ups of polyester fibreglass components for a previous kit car project, and a small amount of vacuum consolidation (before I had ever heard of resin infusion). I am now undertaking a much more ambitious task for my new kit car, where I will be designing and manufacturing (mostly from carbon fibre) the entire engine induction system from dirty air snorkel to the inlet face on the cylinder heads. I know this is a major project as I used to design such things for the likes of Ford, Jaguar and Lotus. I am fortunate in that my current job allows me to have 'out of hours' access to the fluid simulation and mechanical analysis tools vital to a robust design.

I hope to call on the collective experience of this forum to help make it a success as well as publish any lessons learned and useful experiences (both good and bad) from the exercise.

Paul.
