Gooday Mates!

Thinking of using the flexible stick on CF on my bike tank and fenders instead of paint. How should I prep the pieces?

Hi Ron,

I see you posted this a long time ago, it must have been missed, sorry. Ithought I'd give an answer anyway in-case it helps anyone else. To prepare thesurface for the flexible carbon is just the same as doing the same for anyvinyl sticker, the surface needs to be clean and degreased, and for mostsurfaces soapy water followed by a good rinse and dry is sufficient, forheavily contaminated surfaces a solvent like alcohol will ensure a completelyclean surface.

You mention that you were planning to use this for the tank land fenders, this wouldbe fine if used like a scratch/chip protector (this is one of the most commonapplications for the flexible sheet) however if you were hoping to use it towrap the entire part it would prove very difficult. Although the sheet is veryflexible (you can wrap it around a pencil) it has limited capacity forcompound/double curves like the ones that you would find on the part mentioned.
