Hi guys,

Not new to creating carbon fibre products using the wet lay up technique on a mould etc.

However im looking at starting work on some bigger panels and im looking at resin infusion (i need these parts to have an amazing finish).

I will shortly be buying the kit from the store however ive got a few questions.

1. Whats the difference between the resin infusion starter kit and the vacuum bagging starter kit?
2. Whats the difference between a wet layup then bagging opposed to dry layup and resin infusion (different results of finish?)
3. if i buy the resin infusion kit, what is missing or what do i need to make a part. i think i read ill need cloth and resin?
4. how do you clean the connectors (im guessing you bin the pipes and all bagging etc)

Thanks
Ross

Hi, will try to answer as much as i can, but easycomposites guys will give u the best answer :-)

1. Whats the difference between the resin infusion starter kit and the vacuum bagging starter kit?
They both nearly similar but only few items differ, and if u gonna do infusion u need the infusion kit.
2. Whats the difference between a wet layup then bagging opposed to dry layup and resin infusion (different results of finish?)
Idealy if u do both correctly u get perfect results in both, but in my opinion in resin infusion u use less resin or u can control the amount of resin u want.
3. if i buy the resin infusion kit, what is missing or what do i need to make a part. i think i read ill need cloth and resin?
Yes u need cloth and resin, dont forget the releasagents.
4. how do you clean the connectors (im guessing you bin the pipes and all bagging etc)
U use silicone connectors on the mold which are reusable, but u have to bin the hoses if theres resin inside, peelply, infusion mesh, u may reuse the vac bag if u can clean it and if its notdamaged.

This is my little contribution to ur questions, as said before u get best answers from easycomposite guys
