Firstly, hello, new to this forum, not so new to composites but it's been years since any projects. Im ultimately looking to do some custom things to my motoryccle. In this endeavour I've been searching high and low for suitable materials. I like to do infusion but also have considered OOA prepregs but lack of an oven and no idea how to build one is an obstacle in that regard. I intend to make an underseat fuel tank, subframe/monocoque and carbon dummy tank, and possibly a set of body work. My inspiration have been the legends/visionaries of motorsport/composites such as Britten, Durbahn, and many fine folk that have displayed their works of art on forums such as this.
I imagine a resin with a Tg of around 100C should suffice for the temps that might be seen by components near the engine etc. My search for resins for tooling and infusion have led me here
So I thought people might find this beneficial. I remember looking for resins myself and it taking a long time (as you might notice I have an extensive list). It might be beneficial to share our experiences with various resins we may have used in one convenient location. note, not all of these may be available in all countries or in small batches....Please also post where you have purchased from. Please feel free to add to the list. All listed below are EPOXY |
