HI,

I was planning to use one of your 22.2mm ID Carbon Fibre Tube (Roll Wrapped) as part of a cooling pipes system on a motorbike.

Please, could anyone confirm that  this tube is suitable for water routing ?

I assumed it is made with epoxy resin  and therefore should resist to water, but I would like to get it confirmed, please

Could it also endure oil, fuel, etc ... ?

Many many thanks,

I have successfully coated both inside and outside of CF tubing with High Temp Resin from EC, the tubes are used on a drag racing bike, and generally temperatures do not get much above 100 deg. celcius.  Running pressures are less than 1,5 Bar certainly,

We have had two instances of extreme temperature and pressure, one due to a gas leak from a blown gasket into the cooling system. In both cases the CF tube was undamaged and showed no signs of distortion. The Cooling system expansion tank and overpressure valve probably releases pressure way before it becomes a problem for the CF tubing..

The Ethylene Glycol and anticorrosion additives used in modern coolant should not affect high quality epoxies.

I will do a test  setup ... such knowledge may come in handy .... Smile
