Spray gun suggestions for lacquering?

Hi fellas,

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced spray gun that is good for spraying an even coat of lacquer? I've been using a regular spray can but I get that orange peel effect and buddy of mine who owns a paintshop told me that if you spray your lacquer with a good spray gun, all you need after is a quick buff and the part will have that mirror shine. And since I have an air compressor at home I thought I'd have a go with a proper spray gun.

Cheers,
Stan

In that case, what tip size should I go for? 0.8? 1.0?

What's the difference between a normal and a touch up spray gun?

The size, holds less paint and usually has a smaller tip.

That depends on the viscosity of the paint you are spraying. Thicker the paint bigger the tip/nozzle you need. With a 1mm you should be fine with most clearcoats but may struggle with High Build Primer if you are wanting to spray patterns/moulds etc.
