Hi guys and girlsI am looking at building some light weight doors for a race truck and was wanting some advice on the layup. I will be infusing the parts, making an inner and outer skin and would like a carbon outer finish..
The catch is it is, they are for an off road vehicle and likely to fall on its side and hit trees and such (don't panic it has a roll cage) so kevlar will also be important to keep the boys safe from the carbon. and I will not be needing the window frame
I am not concerned about the life of the door against the trees but would like to have them able to open and close regularly without falling apart.
And is reusable silicon bagging worth looking at for the more complicated inside skin?
So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
