Yeah skinning is relativly easy compared with moulding but this thing has take hours and hours to get right. But i think the results have been well worth it. I've used 4x4 twill with EC resin cleared with 2k.

pretty nice looking job but I would do it in another way. I would just make a mould of it, and it would be probably quicker and easier. There is also good way for skinnig flat surfaces : stick the cf to place you want to skin (with resin, gelcoat, spray glue whetever) and then best option is to put epoxy gelcoat but resin will also do the job. After you put gel you put on every surface vaccum bag. You leave it till it is cured and without any problem you take off the bag ( you can use it again and again, resin doesn't stick to bag) and you finish with flat surface, but the finish is mat so you can easy polish or clearcoat it. I hope you understand my english... if any questions feel free to email : wojtepanik@gmail.com
