Hi,

So I have a small question,
Did anyone on here ever made a CNC-milled design out of a certain material like Aluminium, Steel, Epoxy-foam... that is prepreg-ready (110-120°C).
What are your experiences, what materials used, How were the results, what was the finish on the part....

I use molds milled from solid surface material (corean). It is usually used for high quality kitchen worktops and if you are lucky you can find kitchen fabricators who will let you take their spare offcuts for a really good price.

I've also used ebalta pw920 which is designed for the job, but it  is not cheap but cuts like butter on the cnc.

Aluminium molds look amazing, but are expensive and have a very different rate of expansion so can be tricky when molding larger items. My CNC is not really up to the job of milling aluminium.
