Hi there
I recently made some moulds made out of Vinylester/CSM.
The gel coat is Polyester based.
So now the question is...
...how long do I have to wait until I'll be able to use the moulds to build composite parts?

Btw...
...I'll be using ECs GC50 gel coat combined with epoxy resin on the composite parts.

Hi Guys,
im new to this game and have started infusing. made two pieces with just infusion and one piece with GC50 and infusion.

had issues with leaving surface in mold with infusion (ill ask about that on another thread) and sprayed the GC50 and after 4 attempts got it down without fish eyes. (how frustrating can it Be lol)

Hi Warren, you obviously have had loads of experience with GC50, it came out of mold so easy which was great and was super glossy.
but one thing i was not happy with, was compared to the straight epoxy infusion, it had a tarnished brown sort of look to the piece.
not clear at all.
i dont know if i over done the hardener quantity as im only mixing small amounts 80g or so but GC50 started to turn the colour once i mixed the hardener in.

have you had this trouble in the past? by no means was it clear. ive just ordered some epoxy gel coat but would rather use the GC50 for its uv properties.

Many thanks for sharing your knowledge.
