Just discovered Spread Tow Carbon cloth on the net. Does anyone have experience with it? Can it be infused. (I know from experience sheets of tow can"t) The interesting thing is that what I have read so far they say that because of the superiour strength you can go 5 times lighter than twill and yet have the same strength.
Thanks

i havnt used it yet, but have been planning a project for it for some time and have done alot of research into it.
its used alot by the model aero guys as it provides a smoother surface finish of the carbon so weight can be reduced by not having to smooth it out.
from them, the general recomendation is to use the stuff made by textreme as it comes with a binder, similar to profinish supplied by easy composites, which alows it to be worked easier. aparently the regular stuff is difficult to handle. however even with twill, ive started "making" my own pro finish by unrolling the roll and then giving it a very very light mist of aerofix 2 composites spray adhesive, so i see no reason why the same couldnt be done with unbound spread tow
