Newbie mistake - hardener mixer ratios

Hi Folks

Just thought I'd pass on a lesson I learnt last night. I'm very much a hobbiest and new to proper fiberglass. I'm no stranger to resin, though. The mixing ratio on the hardener bottle was a little ambiguous to me last night and I have some unset resin this morning. Instead of mixing 100 parts resin to 30 parts hardener  I thought the label indicated a range of 1:100 to 1:30 mixing ratio....

Funny that, because I got the mixing ratio on the Gel Coat just right.

EasyComposites, if you're reading this, may I appeal to you to make your labels a little more unambiguous for "Idiots Like Me(tm)"? Its really my fault, but maybe we can save someone else having to re-do about 10 hours worth of work.

Cheers
Philimon

Dennis, your maths seems correct to me!

However, I tend to keep things "simple stupid" and use quantities based on 100parts resin or simple divisions of, to make the hardener calculation much easier in your head when in the workshop.
