Hi guys...I've been making gunstocks in closed mold using a silicon bladder for compression.
I imagine in time that prepreg will be the go...but for now I've been wetting out stacked layers of carbon cloth between sheets of plastic and working out excess resin before laying it in the mold. I haven't gotten to precise but I'm probably not to far off 50% resin to 50% cloth.
Is it viable to infuse resin thru the carbon stack and then lay it up by hand which should drop me to 40% resin...the downside I see is that it might not be wet enough to add extra layers which are typically strategically located unidirectional cloth.
It's a reasonably big investment to set up for infusion to try the idea and wondered if you had any thoughts before I commit.
