Hi-tech furniture construction

Dear Friends,

I am going  to start my own project - Building a Hi-Tech furniture for kitchens. The tentative project commencement period - Middle of January 2013. Honestly, I am familiar with composites works as I have extensive experience in aeromodelling. Sure, some techniques were acquired from e-periodicals and video tutorials like those presented by Matt - Carbon Bonnet series.

The idea is to create the furniture which will be compliant to the following specifications:

1. Ultra-light and strong, tenacity to shocks

2. Perfect, radiant surface and durability,

3. Amature friendly (easy to assemble and disassembling properties),

4. High UV and heat resistance,

5. Uniqie in-built user freiendly design.

Anyway, dear EC members, I would appeal for some hints and practical advises for my project. So let me start my narration. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The panels shall be of both right geometrical dimensions and curvilinear. For this project I am going to use combination of 3 colours (i) horizontal panels of black colour (carbon), (ii) vertical panels and interiors (red, dyed epoxy gelcoating, filler - glass fibre), (iii) foot panels - Alufibre carbon. The sample shall be like the furniture presented in attechment hereto.

Question 1: What is the most optimal thickness of panels? I think 1 mm for doors is sufficient. Whereas other vertical panels (bearing pulleys) might be of 3 mm. The horizontal panels shall be 4 mm on top and 5-6 mm at edges/rims. Is my judgement fair or it is a waste of materials and money?

Question 2: What materials do I have to use as fillers for panels? Plyurethane blocks for plain surfaces and aramid honeycombs for curvular laminates? I need optimal advise. The panel should be cost efficient and possess good mechanical resistance properties.

Question 3: What is the best way to bond prefabricated composite laminate to filler materials and cover panel to get strongly fit sandwich with perfectly finished edges and corners? I need the glues and adhesives best pertinent to my demands.

Question 4: What glues can I best use to bond prefabricated panel to aramid/aluminum honeycombs?

Please advise all the materials which may help me get best and cost efficient result.

Thanks in advance,
