Hi Tom,

Polyester infusion resin is indeed cheaper than epoxy infusion resin but it's not something that we stock at the moment due to its lower mechanical performance compared to epoxy resin. The kit itself would be exactly the same (same bagging materials, pump, catch-pot etc.) and the process is also the same however, as I say, you won't get the same mechanical performance and you're likely to find that you get slightly different results in terms of surface finish, infusion speed and a few other things.

Since all the projects we've done to date, including all our advice, tutorials and guides, all relate to epoxy resin infusion; my suggestion would be to start off with epoxy just so that you can get the same results that we get to begin with. If you then want to change to polyester then you can do so and you'll be able to see the differences for yourself but I suggest starting off with epoxy to get the full benefit from the kit, our tutorials and this forum.

Best regards, Matt
