Gel coat

Hi sir
I apply gel coat on the fiberglass mold and everything is good .
The only problem is the surface of  final product is so shinny and my end user says they do not like this this is so shinny . Is better you make it mat .
Pls let me know how can I make my part with mat surface ?
What should I add ?
I use only gel coat and paint and catalyst  ?
My gel coat is made from iso polyester resin . Is Turkish gel coat and is so known brand with high technology production.

you can give it a rub down with a fine scotch brite pad. however, in my experience the only thing that will leave you with a nice mat finish on a complex 3D part will be a mat (or satin gloss) paint job. but even that is harder than painting a gloss finish as you can't touch up anything really, so needs to be laid down perfectly!

But I can not touch my final product . First I apply gel coat and then I apply second layer . Therefore touching of gel coat is not possible . When I remove from mold I should deliver to the end user .



There is nothing you can do to achieve a matte finish from a gloss mould. If your mould is gloss your part will be gloss, finished.

The only thing that may work is to very lightly mist the mould surface with PVA release agent. Not enough to build a film, just enough to 'dust' the surface and take the gloss away. But as Lester said - this isn't a true matte and won't look as good as a proper matte/satin coating, nothing does. It will also cause a little bit of texture in the finished part. Not enough to really feel, but enough to make it a right pain in the ass to keep clean.
