Spray Adhesive Vs Basecoat

Hi gents, I have been using different techniques during my time Carbon skinning to bond the cloth onto my parts.

The most convenient way I have found is using a spray adhesive to bond the cloth to the part then when dry, add my layers of XCR resin. My finish has been great and my parts seem to come out perfect. My main concern at the moment is the longevity of the bond.. is delamination something I should be worried about? Especially on exterior car parts?

I've not had any issues as of yet but delamination doesn't happen right away anyway.

Thanks you in advance!

Assuming the surface is properly prepared and you wet out the fabric generously, then there should be a reasonable amount of resin soak through to the surface of the part adhering the fabric in place.    So delamination should not be too big an issue.

In my experience, sometimes, the act of wetting out the fabric, is enough to break down the spray tack bond meaning the fabric can move around.  So care is needed depending on adhesive and resin combination.
