Resin that can let colour out

Greetings,
You know when a material (polyester, cotton, etc) goes dark when wet. Is there such thing as either an injection or casting resin that will not make the material go dark? I.E. it will let light be reflected back to the eye as per normal. I have this casting resin that although it is see-through when set. If I apply it to polyester cloth it totally blocks the colour of the cloth!! It turns it black because the whole light spectrum is totally absorbed by the resin and none is bouncing back out.

I am not aware of any resins like that.  The clearer the resin the better but there is always a large part of that due to the way the resin effects how the light is reflected, even in a thin layer.

Thanks for taking the time. Is there a way I can  send pictures? It is really baffling as to why the casting resin is transparent yet when soaking the polyester cloth it totally blocks the colour of the cloth and all you see is black. I know what it's happening in the context of spectrometry. I am trying to find a work-around.
I found the upload mechanism. Here is my successful failure. :-)
You can just about make out the USB stick through the clear resin by the bottom left-hand corner.
