Hi,
I'm interested in buying some 1mm thick wet lay carbon sheets that I will be CNC routing but was wondering what the reverse of the sheets look like?
In the description it says, "The sheet is high gloss on one side and performance E-glass fabric on the reverse". Can you describe what the reverse of the sheet looks like, or better yet provide a photo? My application requires both sides of the sheet to be visible, yet it doesn't require double gloss like the pre-preg sheets.
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Hi Dan,
I don't have a photo handy but the peel-ply finish on the reverse is a finely textured pattern (the pattern that comes of the peel-ply when it's removed after the sheets have been made). Because the back of the wet-lay sheets is glass fibre the colour of the reverse of the sheets is a combination of the black coming through from the carbon along with the slightly green tinge of polyester and glass which makes the back a sort of dark grey/green. The peel-ply finish is designed for bonding, not looks. It looks consistent and technical enough but it's not what you'd call attractive.
I hope this helps, Matt
