Hi, I know this will be a rough estimate and has probably been asked here before however, I can't find anything recent. What would be the rough cost of getting a CAD model into production? The product is a diffuser for an M2. It has been made in CAD, so the mould and production cost is what I'm looking for to get an idea of what I would be quoted, I know this is very much dependent but just a rough idea would be extremely helpful. This would be a low volume production and pre-preg carbon.
Thanks in advance

It might help having a photo of the diffuser to aid some relative ideas. You will need to look at how many elements the part needs to be made off.
When you are saying low volume is that a handful of parts or up to 100? If you have cad of the part you can get an idea of the cost if you upload a step.file to plyable.com and it will give you a very accurate cost of producing the mould. This can be from tooling block, machined ali or even prepreg carbon tooling
Without seeing the part I couldn't tell you how much it would be to make, are you having foam cores in the steaks? Or are they monolithic? If you have foam cores they will need to be machined and you will need to factor in additional film glue into the laminate.
More importantly do you have a budget in mind as you will find tooling will be a lot more than you think.
