Hii all,

What do you think about this product below? Pre-pregs without temperature control to cure? Very very interesting I thought.

Need confirmation from easycomposites team

the Gurit product  needs minimum 10hours cure @ 85degrees C and fastest cure @ 120 C   it would be easy to lay up the part  but you would need an oven Smile
the amber product needs a controlled cure cycle so its still 80c for 6+ hours or 2+ hours @120c
with  a controlled ramp up ,dwell and cool down so you would need a oven with very accurate controls Smile(or hot bonder or something to control it)
Gurit also make a prepreg product called Sprint which can be used without an autoclave but still needs a controlled cure cycle

the Gurit(sparpreg) product seems very similar in curing cycle to Easy composites Easy-preg
10hours @100c   except   the sparpreg has a longer outlife than the easypreg

easy enough to use if have the facility to cure it Smile

amber 8020 need a cure of 30 minutes @ 80 +  30 min @ 120....room temperature until 80°C with a 1°C/min ramp, then 80 to 120 with a 2°C/min ramp.....

a 1 or 2 °C/min ramp isn't a problem...I have a home made  oven made with a resistance, a fan and a termoregolator, and I can do a 1°C/min ramp... For now I can't control the cool down ramp, but I'mm working to do it.
Oven is 1,2m x 0,5m x0,5 m, 1Kw resistence, made with metal sheet and isolated outside, able to 120°C for now.
Amber 8020 is very interesting. I have never try with prepreg at home, I usually do infusion (with the problem that a freestanding postcure need 10°C/h ramp...and I can't do it)

sorry for my english BigGrin
