Hi everyone,
I’m new to this Forum and I’m hoping someone could kindly provide a solution or product to help me.
Basically a new Carbon Fibre Bonnet has arrived. However when fitted its approx 2cms too short from the front, where the bonnet with meet the top of the bumper. (I’ve tried to add pictures but it’s taking and age and keeps timing out?)
It’s taken ages to get the bonnet made and another lifetime in delivery. The manufacturers have been very kind and given me a refund.
I’d like to keep the bonnet. I just wanted to ask if there was any solution to this?
Is there any way to produce a ‘Carbon Lip Extension’ to cover the gap?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Sid

Having something completely original produced for for your car in carbon fibre would be an expensive business. Generally speaking, in composites, there can be considerably more time and expense involved in producing the moulds to make a component than to make the component itself. For this reason, I think it would be quite likely that the bespoke lip extension component you're wanting might actually cost more than buying a new bonnet again.
