+x+xHi I've just coated my table with glass cast 3
Will I be able to put a second coat on tomorrow without sanding or can I just go straight over it ?
Also first time at this if I sand will I still get a clear finish after the second coat ?
Thank you
Steve.
Hi Steve,
There are a couple of ways to the multiple pour process which are as follows:
- You could leave the first pour to reach its b-stage of curing (firm but tacky) and then pour straight on top. This will give both layers a chemical bond and give a completely seamless finish. The GlassCast 3 usually takes around 12 - 15 hours to reach this stage in a room that is a consistent 20'c
- If you miss the b-stage, you will need to wait for this to fully cure before prepping for a second layer, this takes 24 hours in a room that is a consistent 20'c. Once the resin has fully cured, you will need to give the entire surface a slight key with 120 grit abrasive paper and then give it a thorough clean. You will then be able to pour the second layer and the resin will have a mechanical bond between each of the scratches and again, give a completely seamless finish.
I hope this information helps.
Thanks Tom much appreciated
