Hi all, I am looking for any courses I can attend for working with carbon fibre.
I have searched online with no luck, does anyone have any recommendations please.

Thanks for your time

Hi 8 Balls

As rob has pointed out theres a few people doing courses including dark matter and coventive composites, we also do training courses where i work at the NCC in Bristol, and of course easy composites do courses too!

I actually retrained as a laminator to get the experience i needed as I wasnt getting the hands on experience being an aircraft engineer, nothing beats hands on experience with the materials and theres so many 'experts' in the industry who have never touched a ply which is scary.

One of the other really good books to get is the practical guide to composites, i bought a couple of copies of it and gave one to our internal library as there was too many books with equations and not enough about doing the actual job.

But as rob has pointed out you cant beat hands on experience, there are plenty of the composites companys taking on apprentices etc, it might be worth seeing if you can get a placement depending on where you are with your age and career.
