hi all! im making a cnc positives to cast a mould using xpreg tooling carbon, but have some doubts on the finishing of the positives to cast the mould as perfect as i can.
i would like to polish the cnc machined piece as much as possible but due the work and the shape of the piece and importance on the precise dimensions, im thinking instead of sanding and polishing,
just paint the mould with high gloss car paint, oven cured, but i dont know if it will react when i cure the piece with the xpreg tooling materials, thanks

Why would you put sealer or paint on a Ali pattern ? You just dont .
Pit the time and money into the pattern
More time into the final cut paths
Then either 600 through too 2000 wet and dry and autosomal polish
Or pay the money to have it professionally polished in a liquid bath
There is only one paint that wont sink back with a tooling cook an you can only get that with the companies own tooling system and then it isn't as good as polished ali
