Lining Car Door Pockets

HI,

I thought I would try "thinking outside the box" as it were.
My car has hard plastic door pockets. If you put anything in them it slips, slides and rattles its way about. Given the car is an EV this is less than ideal.
Plan A. My first thought was to line the pockets with some sort of matting - but you can't get custom fit liners (at least that I can find)
Plan B. Fit myself. So I bought something I thought would be suitable - it turns out to be meshed and as I was planning on using sticky tape to stick it down this would have ended up with a ball of fluff in the pockets
Plan C. Use hot glue to stick the mesh down - this is still a possibility - but see Plan D
Plan D. Find more suitable material. Which is were you guys come in. What about "painting" the pockets with a rubberized material if there is such a thing. I would be painting both the sides and the floor of the pocket so it needs to stick and not just flow down and puddle on the floor. Needs to be fairly thick (I assume, not just a thin coat when dry), and black (I think, clear may be OK, White a possibility). Properties when dry should be rubbery and grippy but not sticky (because of the aforementioned ball of fluff), cleanable by wiping, I guess the ability to peel off (if needed, but not too easy). Can put up with freezing temperatures (not that we get much of that in the UK) and car left in sun temperatures without melting. Ability to put up with fair abuse (car keys, screwdrivers etc thrown into the pocket) and put up with a bit of damage (general use)

Any ideas?

The problem you would have with trying to use a resin based system is adhesion to the plastic, something that a flexible material would be unlikely to do well.  

A better solution  would be the rubberised paint used in pick up and van load beds.  It will likely bond no problem, be black and be plenty tough enough for items in a door pocket.
