Hello all,

Long story short our "Infusion expert" clearly lied on his CV and has not got a clue what he's doing so my company let him go. Now I'm being thrown into the deep end because I've done prepreg and therefore have experience ... I have done very little infusion work and majority of it has been on smaller pieces.

Im being tasked now to make a 15mm E-Plate which is 2500mm x 1200mm. The material is all 1200g Quad weave fibreglass.

The layout on the table so far is:
Peel ply
15x 1200g QUAD
Peel ply
Release film.

Im not sure what would be the best way of infusing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

depends on surface finish and how much resin you want to soak up, as it sounds like a large flat sheet of material it should be a simple enough infusion however it is a thick laminate so you will need to ensure that your chosen resin system will infuse the whole stack.
What infusion consumables do you have? Infusion mesh / MTI hose?

I've got blue knitted resin flow mesh along with 1/2" vac hose. I'll be honest I don't know half the names for most things. Using this orange plastic string tubing along with this perforated material which looks similar to core mat. I can take a picture tomorrow morning if that helps

edit: using ve resin
