Hi guys I'm building a computer desk with a view to putting epoxy resin on the desk, the material is wallnut laminated or vineered mdf,  the desk top is approx 7ft by 3ft with a lip of 2.5mm all around there's also a black acrylic insert fitted flush in the centre, my question is, does it need sealing all over for epoxy and what would you reccomend and also there are minimal gaps around the edge what would be best for sealing these as iv heard that silicone reacts with epoxy, thanks in advance

If you have a fairly thick epoxy layer on one side i would be scared of it bending depending on humidity levels. Can uou keep it symmetrical?
Thanks for the reply the table tops is bolted on either side to substantial units and also supported and bolted  on the back, the main table tops is also made up of an 18mm mdf glued to a 7mm sheet of laminate mdf and I'm looking at a pour of only 2 and a half mm for the top, thanks for the feedback I will take it all on board as im completely clueless when it come to working with epoxy
