Hello, I am making a chess board. Could I use Glasscast 50 for the bulk of my resin pour then use Glasscast 3 for the final coat to provide a harder more scratch resistant surface?
I would have to sand this back the finished surface to make good with the wooden squares and them polish back to a gloss finish.

Yes you can certainly do that.  It is quite common and a recommended method to coat with GlassCast 3 as GlassCast 3 self levels to a very smooth surface - much smoother than the other resins, and hence is ideal to do a nice surface layer without the need for any surface finishing.
