I use 3D printing and composites for my kit car ( a Ferrari replica). In the engine bay are a numbe of tanks ( oil, power steering etc) in black plastic. I would like to replace the caps of the tanks with aluminium ( resin cast) ones. That shouldn’t be too difficult using silicon, two part moulds. Here’s the hard bit. I would like the caps to have the word “Ferrari” recessed into the top of the oil filler cap and the rampant horse in the smaller caps.

Having them proud shouldn’t be a problem, but how can I get them recessed. Any body any ideas because other than printing/finding badges and recesssing them into the caps before moulding I’m stumped.

Hanaldo. Thanks for the idea, it’s not as silly as it might first appear. If I put stickers on first to show the bits I want removing I’m sure a trophy engraving company could remove the bulk of the material and if necessary I can finish it with a fine burr in a Dremel. As the relieved parts are to be filled with red resin only the edges will be visible. Thanks.
