Pebble Mosaic

I want to make a beach pebble mosaic table. Pebbles stuck to an mdf board with a holding timber frame/barrier creating a tray depth of 40mm. Some pebbles will sit higher than others. Maybe some smaller pebbles will be glued on top of each other to reach a max height of, say, 35mm. Can I then pour resin in one go (I am assuming GlassCast 50 would be most suitable) or should I build it up in two or more layers. And finally would it be advisable to use a top coat of GlassCast 3 to give the best finish?

You would likely need 2 pours of GlassCast 50 to be on the safe side so you don't get an exotherm of the resin.

If you use GlassCast 3 or not depends on if you plan on sanding the surface smooth and repolishing or not.  If you are planning on sanding the surface anyway then just stick with the GlassCast 50 as any slight surface imperfections will be sanded out.

If you want to just pour a surface layer then walk away without further work, then the GlassCast 3 on the surface  is the better option as it naturally lays smoother than GlassCast 50.

Thanks
