When casting a table the advice is to brush the sides of the wood with the resin before making your first pour. The advice is not to let the resin set fully before making the next pour but if you brush all of the sides then it will be dry before the last pour. So do you brush in stages as well?

You can do it that way if you have access and it is convenient for you.  However, you can apply more layers of resin when it suits you.  Once the resin has gone hard, key the resin with sandpaper and clean, then you are ready to pour again.
