Hi,
Since I am working on building small structural parts with a need for high strenght (sizes are from 5 mm to 300 mm) I have been looking at "Carbon Nanotube" additives to the epoxy resins, to improve strenght and stiffness.
I have been looking at "Epocyl" from NanoCyl, a Dutch company. and a few others.
The Epocyl product is an additive to the Epoxy resin/hardener mixture, but in epoxy resin form.
Do you have any experience or knowledge of this product? Do you know if it is compatible with EC resins?
In their product description they use a term : "Tetrafunctional epoxy resin" Do you have any information on this term?

Hi Dravis,
I was aware that some companies have developed resin additives containing high proportions of CFN both for increasing electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. It's new technology and quite niche so I don't have any practical experience of using these additives with any of our resin systems although I have no reason to believe they would not work as intended. If you do experiment with additives like Epocyl then remember that the quantity of Epocyl that you add needs to be subtracted from the quantity of resin that you include when you work out your mix ratio.
