Hi Easy Composites
I need some advice, I have a burr oak live edge coffee table, I made a few years ago. It has warped slightly so is no longer perfectly flat on top. The piece of timber is roughly 1mx50cm x 80mm deep. I would like to create a level top with resin. But I'm thinking the only way really is to set the entire piece  in a mould and resin all the way around it. Which would look cool, but be a big pour! If I made a big enough mould, does the resin find its own level? I attach some pics to help.
Ive watched the video on making the river table, which has tons of good points, but he talks about making sure the timber is flat as possible before you start. In my case I cannot. I did think about making a router sled and planing it back level, but its moved so much, you would be removing 20-30mm of material at some points.
Look forward to hearing from you
David

Hi David,
Yes the resin will self level when poured. That does mean you will need to make a mould - polypropylene is idea;.  You would need to accept there will need to be  quite a lot of resin needed. for the project but that is not a problem as you can build it up in layers to get where you need to be.

You will need to clamp the wood down for the first  few layers to stop it floating  but once it is bedded down it should not move.
