Can I thin this gelcoat with acetone? Working in chilly temps it is very thick and difficult to brush.

Hi!

You really should not work with tooling Gel-Coat in temperatures below 18-20 Degrees C.

Just a bit of moisture in the air and low temps will get you into all kinds of problems. one way of handling the problem, if you really can not heat your workspace to 18-20 -21 degress, then heat the gelcoat to maybe 25 degrees C and mix the resin and hardener in a heated reoom ,then move quiclky to the workroom and work fast.

Thanks for that.

Hopefully, as spring finally gets going, temps will rise. I did heat the gelcoat and this made a big difference. However, I would still like to know if the gelcoat can be thinned :-)
