Adding flanges to an aluminium mould

I'm planning to reuse a sumpguard mould that was made for wet layup so doesn't have flanges for vac bagging.
I didn't want to weld the flanges on as it may distort the mould so instead I planned to usePU adhesive to attach the flanges leaving a small recess which I could then fill with silicon as IME epoxy resin doesn't release well from PU adhesive.

Any different views or advice before I do this?

Thanks
Stuart

Yes - photo would help Whistling
As you can tell this mould hasn't been used for a couple of years and needs a good clean before anything but you can probably see it has 3 sides (f,l,r) with a small 60 degree flange and then just flat at the rear.  Epoxy sounds a good way to go as it leaves a smooth slippery finish - any other advice appreciated.
