Split mould use

Hi,

Have made a split mould and used easy release as per the instructions.

I made a GRP pattern just to see if my mould was correct.

My problem came with getting the new mould to release. I layerd up a gel coat and a single layer of GRP just to try the mould, a put the two halves of the mould together and then just ran a strip of GRP to join the two halts together.

When I came to split it, I had a very difficult job to split it and also remove the pattern from the mould.
The joints weren't stuck together, it appeared to be a refusal of the main part to break away. I even had to force a piece of wood between the GRP pattern and the mould to force it apart.

Did I do anything wrong chaps?

I am hoping to make a part from carbon fibre but obviously I am concerned about the release issue

Any comments welcome,

Regards

Do you have any pictures? The geometry of the part can cause the tool to lock together even though you  made a split tool.
