Motorsports/Drag Racing Enthusiast getting into composites

Good morning/day/night for where ever you may be, I see there are members from across the globe.  I am primarily a Motorsports enthusiast heavy on the atv drag racing scene.  So of course that leads into light weight materials as hp/weight ratio is key.  Few parts I have made currently, that I'd like to do inhouse, but more so for my own projects and a few friends.  At this time I am moving into machining/router simple parts, with the intent to move to wet layup pieces as I become more confident.

Any info on tooling specifically carbide bits would be fantastic.

One product that caught my eye I ran across on FaceBook, was a fiberglass overlay with a red tinted gelcoat finish.  Finish product looked fantastic!  I'm thinking the top layer is a fiberglass skin like this:

Any knowledge you can share along those lines would be fantastic.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum!  The red finish may well be either a dyed fibreglass/polyester fabric or a carbon fabric sprayed with a red translucent lacquer after moulding to give the red finish.

In terms of carbide bits for routers,  we do not stock any ourselves.  Our range is based on hand tools and Dremel style tools from the Perma Grit range.
