As I removed some tape from a piece of finished carbon fiber plate the Automotive clear coat peeled off like a sheet of plastic.
I have never been comfortable with the way I finish my products.
What does your method look like?
What surface prep do you do before shooting the automotive clear coat?
What is your final sanding grit?
What do you use for final wipe down?
Is there an adhesion promoter that is invisible in a clear finish?
I would really appreciate hearing from you professionals.

800 grit, degrease then 2k high solid clear coat, but I'm not a professional
