Good morning composite people!
I'm looking at making a mould from a wooden paddle. I've got epoxy mould putty etc aplenty but can you advise on how best to prepare the surface of the wooden paddle?

Depending on the surface treatment of the wooden oar, you may only need to apply a good number of layers of release wax. Certainly if the wooden oar is varnished/laquered with a high Gloss then 5- 7 coats of release wax maybe all you need :-) If the oar is scratched, dinged and has a very worn surface, you may need to sort this out, any "open" wood will need to be sealed or laquered, preferably using epoxy coating or 2-component laquer
