Hi All,Firstly very many thanks to the Admin for allowing me to join the Forum.
Just a little bit about myself by way of an introduction:
I have been an active modeller for 56 years, mainly in the model railway world but with some bus modelling as well. For the last couple of years I've not been active with the railways but have done much more bus modelling.
Over the years I have modified, detailed and resprayed many railway models and now do the same with buses - by the way I work in 4mm scale although for several years my railway modelling was in 7mm.
Over the time I've developed several 'skills' that have helped me, especially whilst scratchbuilding including teaching myself to use my lathe and milling machine, making my own decals and, particularly useful, etching my own parts from brass using readily available materials.
My now exclusively bus modelling is what has brought me to the Forum as I have bought items from Easy Composites so that I can cast parts from my own masters to enable the modification of the diecast model buses available and also to enable me to make a master from which I can reproduce a number of buses rather than scratchbuild several identical vehicles to paint in different liveries.
I have a very basic knowledge of resin casting but with the help of the Forum and some books I hope to learn more to enable me to take things further in my hobby.
I'm hoping to be able to ask advice of those more experienced in resin casting and hopefully perhaps be able to contribute when I can to help others.
I do have a question at this point but I'll do a bit of reading before I plunge in and seek help!.
