Composites in Wind Turbine Blade

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions regarding composites used in wind turbine blades. I have done some research and the best answer I have got is they use polyester matrix with reinforced glass fibre. My question is, if I was to manufacture a small subsection of it to simulate its surface,

a) what type of polyester resin and glass fibre would be best?

b) is it available on easycomposites?

All help is very much appreciated. Thank you

most turbine blades are made from the cheapest materials possible due to the amount of material required. The more advanced and longer blades use a carbon composite root end and spars down the middle.
Have you had a good look over on the vestas site?
