We've just uploaded our newest video tutorial. This time we returned to a video that we've been meaning to remake for many years; our Carbon Fibre Skinning tutorial. The original video was one of the first ones we made and was shot on some pretty shaky gear!
Carbon fibre skinning is still a topic that we get asked about a lot and although we generally work with more advanced processes for structural applications, there are plenty of interesting projects where carbon fibre 'skinning' over the top of an existing component is desirable. The process itself is one that
really needs a good video tutorial because if you get it right and follow the process exactly, it works really well - however - get your timings wrong and it can be hard work indeed. We hope this new video, produced to our more recent high standards, will do a good job of explaining the process completely. Combined with the incredible XCR resin system (developed specifically for this type of hot-coating work) you really can get some stunning results.
We have also produced some detailed instructions in PDF format which act as a companion guide to the video tutorial. Have them by your side when you start your next carbon fibre skinning project.
