Easy Composites Cured Product Strength

Good morning,

This is more a question for the admins and tech guys but basically the wing on my car as pictured has steel legs and bases to attach to the boot.

I want to get some Pre cured Right angles and make brakets to replace the steel ones and also using the Cured Rigid sheets i want to make new legs.

My question is regarding tensile strength.

The wing itself weighs approx 5kg so that will be held up no problem.

At 70mph the wing will push down and see a downward force up to 190kg

I can reduce the tilt to reduce this effect.

Also thought of a set up like this.

Thanks in advance for any help

Hey Warren

I should be able to work out the calcs for the tensile and flex etc from what you have provided so thank you very much for that BigGrin

The angles will be bolted to the boot with a supporting bracket underneath as well. Then the legs i just need to work out the angle the force is working and make sure the weave is in the correct orientation for that directional force.

Just like ive seen in your videos, Depending on the weave direction you will have a stronger flex one direction or if i used your bi axial weave that would give it the rigidity every way.

i'll be doing this over the next couple of months and will tests to test max force on the part so ill keep you updated.
