Hello all, I have joined to gain knowledge on vacuum bagging.  I have had one attempt making a mould and a few leaks occurred which set the cat among the birds to coin a saying and in the end in went to the bin.

I was making a rear defuser for F3 race car, apart from the leaks in the mould I used foam as a stiffner to make the ribs under the defuser and when vacuum was pulled it deformed the foam and problems after that, so that's where I am at the moment.

I have made another mould and would appreciate some body that has made these before that could make a few suggestion.

Please understand that I have little knowledge in vacuum bagging however used heaps of glass and fiber in hand lay up's

Thanking you

hi sam , welcome im sure we can help you out.

With regards to the vacuum bag, did you envelope bag? i.e put the whole tool inside? or did you use a vacuum film and tape around the perimeter of the tool?
Its amazing how much a tool can deform under vacuum.

Looking forward to seeing your projects.
