Hi everyone, I'm from fife and have very recently got into composites. I've always loved the look of carbon fibre but never owned anything with, or made out of carbon fibre, partly due to costs but mainly because I always felt I could do it myself. So a couple of months ago I bit the bullet and made an order from Easy Composites. I bought just a few things to begin with, 1m roll of carbon, and a couple of different types of resin with fast and slow cure times. When it came to tooling I had nearly everything to hand as I work in the motor trade.

Anyway, the first couple of things I tried turned out badly, but that was purely down to my miscalculation with the resin/hardener ratio. So after another few attempts I felt confident enough to tackle the car. I have to say I'm very pleased with the results and have to thank Easy Composites for the excellent products they provide, very good to work with indeed! Here's a few pics of the results, they are far from perfect but I'm well chuffed!
Apologies if attached files don't work as I'm on my mobile.

Hello there, Craig, and thanks 😊 You're not too far away indeed. Had a quick look at your projects! Some nice carbon work there, very nice indeed!

Hi mark, you're spot on there! Although, you can't prepare yourself for the disappointment, especially when you've spent so much time, prep and care on a project only to mask something off for a straight line and cut on the wrong side.......but I wouldn't do that, oh no, I didn't do that......doh!!! :-S

I'm still very much a novice, so the parts were only veneered, although I did vacuum bag the larger pieces to make sure all the curves etc were followed, then just layers of epoxy resin, and a final coat of HB Autoclear 496. I'm practicing my mould making skills just now, as I would like to give resin infusion a go, but not had much success with that, so far!
