I've just joined this forum as I use composites in the making of model aircraft where I specialise in high performance gliders and am often seeking advice.
Using composites doesn't prevent the fate of many gliders as dustbin fuel and, after a day in the workshop, I could tell you more if my fingers were not stuck together!
I qualified in Chemistry and Plastics Technology many years ago but most details escape with with advancing years. Also my life as a full size pilot has ceased for the same reasons.
My resin covered fingers are often contaminating the keys of my clarinet and saxophone. Other than that I'm just a sad old git.

Welcome along!  MANY years ago I used to build gliders.  Mostly damn big open class gliders but we are in the realms of ribs and balsa skins I'm afraid.  Most of my building is IC now although I haven't flown for a couple of years.  I've just build a wren turbine as a bit of a 'can I do it' exercise.  I'm in bollington, the kettle is always on here if you're close by.
