Easy Composites Team,

I recently purchased a sheet of rigid CFRP and need to model the material using LS Dyna.
I am using the material model 162 and require the following properties;
density
Young’s modulus - longitudinal direction
Young’s modulus - transverse direction
Young’s modulus - through thickness direction
Poisson’s ratio ba
Poisson’s ratio ca
Poisson’s ratio cb
shear modulus ab
shear modulus bc
shear modulus ca
Longitudinal tensile strength
Longitudinal compressive strength
Transverse tensile strength
Transverse compressive strength
Through thickness tensile strength
Crush strength
Fiber mode shear strength
Matrix mode shear strength
Matrix mode shear strength
Matrix mode shear strength

I am aware that some of these values will be the same and some can be calculated from others however as much information you have as possible would be great thanks.

Regards.

Which sheet did you buy?

if it was our Pre-Preg Carbon Fibre Flat Sheet then the following mechanical data is "typical" cured data from the manufacturers pre-preg datasheet. Our curing cycle is very similar to the test cycle used for getting the data which is 130C for 60 minutes with 3 bar pressure:
